Saying Goodbye to one of my favorite places in Minneapolis.
Map of Uptown.
An old love made this for me a handful of years ago when I’d undoubtedly get turned around every time we met in uptown.
New Year’s Morning.
Tiny hot chocolate or hugemungo cookie, you decide.
Perfect cap to the most heart testing NYE weekend to date.
I love you, Minneapolis. This whole weekend was amazing. Going out with a fucking bang.

“Oh, you and Maggie are both going to cry. I’d put money on it.” - mutual friend.
Yep. And it was Ani’s birthday yesterday. And! She opened with Shy.
I’ve been manifesting on a new place to call Mine. A few weeks ago a friend was telling a story how when she was apartment hunting she wrote down a list of her ideal place so she could start manifesting. She also said that the place that came to her had quartz crystals buried in the perimeter to attract good tenants (I think I yelped at this because I could not help it-nerd alert!).
When I got home, over the next few days I wrote my list. I’m not in a bind, I’m not getting kicked out or under any sort of deadline … so I have the luxury to be picky. To find the perfect spot. I’m looking for a one bedroom in either Northeast Mpls or Uptown area-ish. I draw the line at S.Mpls because I don’t want to double my current commute. I waffled on the random Roommate Wanted posts, but I don’t know if I can handle living with dudes (no offense dudes!). And I guess I just want this place to be my own.
Holly pretty much summed up my feelings on the whole craigslist headache. I scour through pages of ads, make phone calls and leave email inquiries to no avail. I feel like that scene in Pretty Woman, “I’ve got money to spend!” but I don’t know where else to really look.
Here is my ideal place wish list:
- Wood floors
- Sunlight/ Lots of natural light
- A kitchen that begs to be cooked in
- Charm
- Fireplace
- French doors/curved archways
- Large bedroom (or at least big enough to fit my hugemungo bed)
- Cat friendly
- Not too high up/not basement
- Safe area
- Kind neighbors/landlord
- Affordable (That awesome deal, big bang for the buck steal)
- Good energy
I’m flexible on some of these, it’s a wish list after all, but seriously if you have any tips or suggestions please let me know. What’s that you say?

GPOYW - The Pride Edition
Minneapolis has one of the biggest, gayest, Prides in the country. We’re expecting the upwards of 100,000 people this weekend. I tried to explain to Holly that it was basically like a college Homecoming Weekend on steroids and glitter. Everyone is happy, everyone is proud, everyone is love.
On Sunday I’ll be in the parade dancing on a float with my Jager Girls and Dudes. Come out to say hello. I’ll throw you some swag and do the robot.
