For a reason, it is hard to clean up blood  when it spills. It stains with permanence, even the underside of our skin. It tags the spot we were wounded in, the size of the tag tells the size of the wound. Maybe this is why, at the Rainbow Motel in Memphis, they had to use a cut-out saw to break away the large reddened concrete balcony piece that Dr. King breathed his spirit out on.
